Different levels of security
The online public services have different levels of security. It is service owners that determines which level of security their services requires – security level 3 or security level 4 (highest level).
Security level 3
MinID is an electronic ID that provides login on security level 3. It uses a two-factor security solution. MinID login consists of the national identity number, personal password and single-use code by SMS or a PIN-code from a code letter.
Security level 4 (highest level)
BankID, BankID on mobile, Buypass and Commfides provides electronic ID on the highest security level. This is also a two-factor security solution. In addition you have to show up to confirm your identify.
With security level 4 you gain access to for example health information. If you are logged in with MinID, but want to log on to a service that requires a higher level of security, you must log on again with BankID, BankID on mobile, Buypass or Commfides.
